Early Jetson ONE prototype airframe welding.
This week we sat down with our in-house technical engineer and founding member of Jetson, Tomasz Patan. Tomasz is an engineering genius with decades of experience working within the helicopter and drone sector. He has ensured every part of the build process has undergone rigorous testing and the design of the Jetson is built around safety and ease of use.
Here you can see one of our engineers in action welding an early jetson one prototype, when asked about this moment. Tomasz said:
“Safety is our absolute priority. The moment we will start shipping Jetsons would be the moment I feel confident enough to let my family member fly it. Sitting in Jetson ONE you are becoming a part of the machine. You are being cocooned by it. I knew right from the beginning it would have to be clever design that protects you. At the same time, it has to be very lightweight and provide good ergonomics. It is also where all the other components are mounted onto. A part of that safety design philosophy. Its design was inspired by a race car roll cage. It is a so-called “spaceframe” made from special aluminium alloy. It provides very high level of rigidity and occupant protection.”
This attention to detail and meticulous methodology has led us to the Jetson ONE, an easy to fly, safe and beautifully designed eVTOL aircraft.
